On July 5, the Koah ha-Ole Foundation launched the Russian-language version of its website, timing the launch to coincide with the opening of the competitive Pumpkin Charity grant program.

Pumpkin Charity supports community, cultural, educational and public-awareness initiatives created by new immigrants who have arrived in Israel since the beginning of 2022 — the “Pumpkin Aliyah.”

Organizers

The program is run in partnership with the Pumpkin Latte community — Israel’s largest Russian-speaking immigrant community, bringing together more than 120,000 participants from Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and other countries.

Projects

The first stage accepts applications for support from projects that are already operating. The second stage, for new initiatives, will open in November.

Expert Committee

• Tatiana Berlin — community leader and founder of the Social and Information Assistance community.
• Tatiana Glezer — creator of the Pumpkin Latte community, founder of the Fifty Global research group and Development Director at Boyar International School.
• Ilya Axelrod — Israeli stand-up comedian and co-host of the “From the River to the Sea” podcast.
• Maxim Fraerman — community activist and former municipal coordinator for immigrant affairs at Holon Municipality.

Grant Fund

The total grant fund for the first stage is NIS 50,000. Individual grants range from NIS 1,000 to NIS 20,000 per project.

Applications are accepted through the Koah ha-Ole Foundation website until July 31.
